The hometown pride that they carried with them as their career catapulted them from where they began earned the band yet another rare accolade in the form of an official commendation from the State of Mississippi. In January, Mississippi passed a House Resolution congratulating the group on their success and for being an inspiration to other artists, cementing their place in the state’s rich musical history in an event the band counts as one of their greatest honors. “That really moved me,” Danica said. “It was truly one of the highest honors we’ve received… I want to be the best that I can be because I want some kid to be able to go ‘man, if she’s from Mississippi and she can do it, then I can do it.”
“There is more talent in Mississippi than I could probably name in ten states,” she continued. “The last couple of years we’ve been standing up and saying ‘don’t count us out.”
The band is just catching a bit of a break from their long run of shows and celebrating the recent release of their album Glory Days, which was largely inspired by their experiences on tour. The album dropped in May, and adds 11 new tunes to the band’s repertoire, such as the emotionally impactful ballad “Love in Letting Go.” A patriotic, uplifting jam, “American Pride” carries a message of unity for all, sends some love out to the troops, and has already become a fan favorite.
Whether you’re new to the Chapel Hart or have been following them for a while, the band have been cooking up a fresh and exciting show for everyone. “There’s something old, something new, and something to sing along to,” Danica said. “Our shows are like running into a family reunion of a family that you didn’t know you belong to… we are always so excited to see our gulf coast family.”
iMPAC (Immersive Media Performing Arts Center) is a state of the art performance venue located at the Harrison County Campus of Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College which seats 1,200 people and offers advanced acoustic capabilities and a unique, refined experience for the audience. Tickets are available at the venue’s website.
“If you were thinkin’ about going, grab three more people and tell ’em to come on…” Danica said. “Anytime we play at home it just ignites us. Let’s make this one of the biggest family reunions the gulf coast has ever seen.”
