From New Jersey to New Orleans, Cake Boss star Buddy Valastro offers sweet creations and New York-Style pizza with the opening of PizzaCake. Starting with his family business Carlo’s Bakery, Buddy carved out his slice of fame on the hit TLC series Cake Boss. PizzaCake boosts elements of street art and old-school photos, adorned with Buddy’s infamous personal style and flavors to match. Restaurant-goers can choose from traditional East Coast or Sicilian slices, as well as classic flavors and specialty pies, including The Boss Pizza (mozzarella cheese, two types of pepperoni, sausage, and smoked bacon), Chicken & Bacon Alfredo Pizza (white sauce, mozzarella cheese, crispy chicken, smoked bacon crumbles and alfredo sauce), or Veggie Pizza (seasonal vegetables, nut-free pesto, and grated parmesan cheese).
With so many delectable pizza slice choices, we decided to opt for choosing 2 different slices and because each slice is so large, the friendly staff were kind enough to cut each slice in half for both of us so we could each enjoy what would be one of the Best slices of pizza to hit the south!!
Wanting a lil’ spice in our life, we chose the Buffalo Chicken (breaded chicken, buffalo hot sauce & mozzarella) and the Spicy Supreme (italian sausage, pepperoni, fresh jalapeno, peppers, onions, mushrooms & ricotta.) Yep, without a doubt are neighbors to the north know how to make the best pizza pie!! From the sauce to each ingredient and the crust, oh my goodness the crust, every bite left us wishing we’d ordered the entire slice for ourselves instead of having them cut in half!! Sherron, who normally picks off and eats the toppings and leaves much of the crust of other pizza brands, found herself eating the crust first and then the toppings. Leave it to a cake and pastry baker to make the freshest pizza dough whose texture with every bite is similar to that of a beignet!! On the drive home, I was so wishing I’d ordered a full pizza to go. Next time, oh yes, next time I will be bringing an entire pizza pie back home with me!!
