The building stands tall on the downtown corner with a historical, yet modern vibe. Upon entering the building, the cascading antique chandeliers light up the staircase that leads you into the dining room immediately radiating a warm and welcoming ambiance. Once upstairs, you are greeted by the friendly, hospitable staff and given the option to choose your preferred dining experience; whether that is sitting at the gorgeous bar backed with an array of high-end spirits, to the airy balcony overlooking downtown to the dim table lit dining tables; your comfort and preference are met right away.
One Thirty One Lameuse being a locally family-owned establishment, shows in their menu by keeping most menu items fresh and locally sourced and made in house. The chargrilled oysters are one of the guests’ favorites and come straight from our Gulf Coast islands. Fresh catch changes daily due to what is fresh from our local seafood company. The sauces, soups, and gumbo are made from scratch from their kitchen. The menu is curated to give you the best experience of fresh eats with a bit of that southern creole soul.
The menu once changed seasonally, updating the sides and sauces to fit the season; but as of this year, One thirty One Lameuse decided to create a permanent menu with some of the past favorites, plus some new items to make the best guests’ appeasing array of foods around. To the duck poppers and grilled Caesar salad to the enormous grilled porkchop, there is something for everyone.
And it doesn’t stop with dinner; One Thirty One Lameuse hosts brunch every Saturday and Sunday with all your favorites. Chicken and waffles, crab benedict, and their soulful shrimp and grits are just to name a few. And if that wasn’t enough, they offer a mimosa flight, serving you a bottle of your choice of champagne with your pick of juices. You can create your own flavors at your table. Live music appears at brunch on the second Saturday of every month.
Now that a permanent menu is in place, every month a monthly food feature is curated to match the season. Normally, featuring an appetizer and a dessert option to match whatever the crave may be for that month. Each new feature is shared on the One Thirty One Lameuse Facebook page.
Outside of the food menu, One Thirty One Lameuse houses some of the best mixologists on our Gulf Coast; and that shows in the drinks. The wine list is handpicked and refined to compliment any item on the food menu. Signature cocktails have been crafted to also make your dining experience taken to the next level. Fresh squeezed juices and herb-infused syrups are just a few things that place the bar above most. The option of a “build your own Old Fashioned” with multiple bourbons, syrups and bitters is a guests’ favorite on the cocktail menu.
Outside of the normal schedule of hours, One Thirty One Lameuse is home to so many celebrations. The restaurant subs as an event space, catering to your precious moments. Mardi Gras krewe parties, birthday parties, business Christmas events, rehearsal dinners, bridal brunches, wedding ceremonies business dinners and luncheons; there is really no end when it comes to One Thirty One Lameuse hosting for your special event. Private event options are available to close the entire space for just you and your celebration.
