(BILOXI) The 17th annual Old Biloxi Cemetery Tour is scheduled for Sunday October 22, from 2 to 4 p.m. and then the tour repeats on Tuesday, October 24, 2023 from 5 to 7 p.m. This is the same tour on two dates. The event is a self-guided, continuously performed event, so attendees may arrive anytime and witness all ten re-enactments. This year’s theme, Biloxi Love Stories, features tales of a fisherman, doctor, businessman, writer and more.
Portrayals include: Jake & June Mladinich (Cree Cantrell & Mollie McCarroll); William Henry Ross (Mike Lacey) Ann Elizabeth Allen Ross (Karen Morgan) Adolph Ross (Doffie Ross (descendant)) Margaret L. Allen Ross (Wendy West); Capt. George Duggan & Mary Ella Bennet Duggan (Bill Collins & Gabrielle Brou); Willie & Tamelia Fountain (Larry Fountain (descendant) & Tamelia Fountain Schoendorf(descendant)); Maria & Miranda Younghans (Brandy & Gracie Mills); Laura Hinsdale (Bailey Smith); Dr. & Mrs. William Tisdale (Dr. Paul Tisdale & Jill Tisdale (descendants)); Vera Dukate Bond Chinn (Kathe Newcombe).
In keeping with tradition, this is a free public event but donations are welcome. The tour will showcase history-based reenactments at graveside. Walking entrance to the tour can be accessed either from the Highway 90 gate, Elk’s Club back exit, or from Irish Hill. Refreshments will be provided.
