Getting Lost on Purpose: The Story of Lost Spring Brewing Company

If you have spent any time in downtown Ocean Springs, you understand that this town moves to its own rhythm.

It is slower here. Intentional. Creative. You feel it in the art galleries, in the live music drifting through open doors, in the way conversations stretch long after sunset. Ocean Springs does not rush. It gathers.

Lost Spring Brewing Company was built in that same spirit.

“Growing up in Ocean Springs, it was hard not to be in love with the vibe of the town,” says Nolan Keith, operating owner, part owner, and head brewer. “We move slower here. We find fun wherever we can. We create together, and we enjoy together.”

When the idea of opening a brewery first began to take shape, there was no rigid blueprint or corporate template. What there was, however, was clarity. It needed to move in synchronicity with the town that inspired it.

That alignment has become the foundation of Lost Spring Brewing Company.

Rooted in Community

In a downtown known for its character and nightlife, Lost Spring Brewing Company stands out not because it competes for attention, but because it cultivates belonging.

“I think there is a lot about Lost Spring that makes it stand out,” Nolan shares. “Aside from the things everyone will tell you, the community is by far our favorite part.”

Step inside and that intention becomes obvious. The room hums with energy without feeling rushed. Locals unwind after work. Visitors discover a new favorite pour. Artists, musicians, entrepreneurs, and families share the same space. It is the kind of environment where one drink easily turns into an evening, not because of pressure, but because of comfort.

While the atmosphere feels relaxed, the execution behind the bar reflects experience and precision.

Lost Spring’s in house brews rotate seasonally, keeping the tap list fresh while maintaining quality. Among the most popular selections are Mississippi Hippie, rated the second best New England IPA in Mississippi, 1699 Pale Ale, and Bunny Snax, their Bavarian Hefeweizen. Each beer represents thoughtful craftsmanship without unnecessary pretense.

Cocktails receive the same attention. Seasonal menus allow the team to stay creative while giving regular guests something new to anticipate.

March brings the annual release of Bright Eyed Brew, a collaboration featuring locally roasted coffee from Bright Eyed Brew Co., pralined pecans, and a hint of cacao. It is layered, rich, and distinctly local. Guests can also expect a St. Patrick’s Day cocktail menu that adds a celebratory touch to the early spring season.

On Friday and Saturday nights, the experience expands through a partnership with Arepa Bar. Their Venezuelan inspired, late night menu complements the brewery’s offerings and encourages guests to settle in. The collaboration reflects a broader theme that runs through Lost Spring’s business model, support local, build relationships, and create spaces where people want to stay.

Lost Fest 5: Five Years of Growth

If the daily atmosphere reflects Ocean Springs, Lost Fest reflects its heart.
On April 11, 2026, Lost Spring Brewing Company will host Lost Fest 5, marking the fifth year of the annual music and arts festival.

“Lost Fest originally had a very humble start,” Nolan explains. “But it was well enough to get the ball rolling. Every year since, it has grown in attendance and support from our side and from our sponsors. We are just as humbled to present a fifth year.”
What sets Lost Fest apart is not just the lineup, but its accessibility. As one of the only privately hosted events in Ocean Springs that remains completely free to the public, it serves as a tangible expression of gratitude to the community that has supported the brewery from the beginning.

This year’s festival will feature returning acts and local favorites including Caution Swing Bridge, Getting Fired from the Applebee’s, Biloxi Bacon, and YH Sound. The 228 Vintage Market will also be present, bringing together regional artists and collectors in a setting that blends music, art, and shared experience.

Attendees can expect live performances, games, vendors, and a relaxed lawn chair atmosphere that feels distinctly Ocean Springs. The invitation is simple. Show up. Bring a chair. Stay awhile.

Leadership and Longevity

Five years in, Lost Spring Brewing Company has grown alongside the town that shaped it. What began as an idea rooted in hometown pride has evolved into a fixture within the downtown experience.

For Nolan Keith and the ownership team, the mission has extended beyond serving quality beer and cocktails. It has centered on building a space where connection happens naturally. Where musicians and artists have a platform. Where visitors feel welcomed and locals feel known.

That commitment is visible in consistency. In the rotating seasonal menus. In collaborative releases with local businesses. In partnerships with food vendors. In an annual festival that continues to expand while remaining free to the public.

As 2026 approaches, the team looks forward to continuing what they have built, serving the community what it has come to love, while introducing a few new surprises along the way. Through every shift and season, the experience remains the same. Walk in. Settle in. Stay awhile.

In a town celebrated for its creativity and character, Lost Spring Brewing Company has carved out its place not by chasing trends, but by honoring its roots.

And if you find yourself there longer than you planned, that may be the truest reflection of what they set out to create.
