“Most of us in the band have been doing it for quite some time,” said Greg. “We all just kind of got together because of our love for the music and the songs that we play… the style that we do. We just wanted to do something as top notch as we could and form a band based on chemistry as much as talent. That’s kind of driven us the last four and a half years.” It didn’t take too long for Disco Kiss to find themselves booked steadily, finding their stride delivering their full night cover performances. But as often happens when talented musicians hang out together for too long, other ideas started to form. An groove here and a riff there at a rehearsal or soundcheck eventually inspired the bandmembers to put their heads together on some material of their own.
“Here to Rock!” is Disco Kiss’ first original release, and couldn’t be more of a straight up declaration of what the band is all about. Crunchy riffs, upbeat, bouncy rhythms, soaring lead guitars and vocals… “Here to Rock!” is all about turning up the volume and rocking out, and has all of the ingredients to place it firmly within the realm of many of the fun arena style jams they cover. The soon-to-be-released video showcases the band in their element: on stage, hyped up and throwing down in style. It’s a strong introduction to the band that ties in with their tribute show nicely, and while it’s the first of their original material, it’s definitely not the last. According to Greg, there are more songs in the works that will explore different styles of the rock genres.
