It’s been quite the musical journey for singer Eugene Eash so far. He’s shown up for gulf coast entertainment-seekers for decades, filling venues with his smooth-voiced charm and presenting a wide variety of performances, projects and collaborations. His music has taken him places, putting him at theme parks, on cruise ships, and even Broadway. He’s worked as a talent buyer and entertainment director for Hard Rock International, and has had a great continuing run in our own casino circuit as well as many of our attractive downtown and nightlife areas.
“I’m more of an entertainer I think than a musician…” Eash said. “Everything else just follows from that.”
While clearly a talented musician, that personality and flair for the entertainment side of things is what makes Eash a standout performer. Whether fronting a band, holding up the party for an all night solo gig, or taking on a spokesman or MC role, Eash brings a casual confidence and fun, engaging nature to each show, and acts as a champion and advocate for whatever project he’s involved in. His social media is full of charismatic promo videos, enticing followers to hit the town and join him and his friends for some good times, and even throwing out some fun sports betting picks from himself and friend Max Duke. His live shows are dynamic and tailored to his audience, and he makes it his mission to connect with them every time.
It’s a system that’s kept Eash quite happily busy in the music scene since we last caught up with him in 2011, which notably was for the first artist feature this writer put out when I started with the Observer. Good times indeed.
