Makin’ the Most of the Coast

“During July and August you’re going to want to balance your vacation between opportunities to enjoy the outdoors and beaches with the great opportunities to have indoor experiences. You might look at something like Scraping the Coast, Jeeping the Coast, or the outdoor activities that happen at the Ohr O’Keefe museum. Also events that take place at outdoor patio venues, with indoor activities.” Says Young. “You have the opportunity to do both at the Aquarium, where you can be indoors and outdoors and you’ll get to see their development of the new building into an indoor attraction with multiple species.”

As we step in to July the entire coast looks forward to celebrating liberty with various 4th of July festivities. With more than 12 communities across three counties, you can see a beautiful variety of flair and style for celebration.

“For Shuckers games across from the Beau Rivage they have fireworks at the end of every game.” Young continues. “You can see those from the beach, you can see those from the stadium. We also have unique celebrations in the smaller communities, like Long Beach’s fourth of July jubilee. We also have Light Up the Bay, which is on Oyster Bayou on the Jordan River July 2nd. You can go on the Biloxi schooner out in the water to see any number of these fireworks shows. You can participate in a sunset cruise with Ship Island.”

From splash pads, to island excursions, to local food and festivity there’s so much to do here on our beloved gulf coast, and Coastal Mississippi Tourism invites you to join the fun. Every day there’s something new and amazing happening here for both tourists and locals, and Coastal Mississippi is here .
