Here in South Mississippi there’s a family we all know, who’s always been there for us when our loved ones pass away. They help us through the most painful times of our lives so that we may set our beloved to rest in as painless a routine as possible, guided by their helping hands. With them we walk through the exasperation, sorrow, and pain until finally the sun comes up again and we leave our lost loved ones in peace knowing they were well taken care of. I’m speaking, of course, about the O’Keefes of Bradford-O’Keefe funeral homes. But now a wider audience is becoming familiar with this family and the legacy it’s created.
The Burial, starring Tommy Lee Jones and Jamie Fox, has caught the hearts and minds of audiences all over the nation. This courtroom drama tells the story of Jeremiah O’Keefe (Jones), and his lawyer Willie E. Gary (Foxx) as they triumph over a much larger funeral company seeking to dominate them as competition. Wonderfully directed, excellently cast, it’s no wonder that at the time of writing it still sits in the top 10 Amazon Prime movies more than a month after release.
