MORE THAN A GOLF SIMULATOR

Lux Lounge and MGM Golf Are Redefining the Way the Coast Gathers

I expected a golf simulator. What I did not expect was to bring my kids, hang out for hours, and leave already planning to come back. That’s what surprised me most about Lux Lounge and MGM Golf at Beau Rivage. It doesn’t feel overly serious or exclusive. It feels social. Comfortable. Like one of those places where every group in the room is there for a completely different reason, but somehow it all works together.

Located along the Beau Rivage retail promenade, Lux Lounge and MGM Golf are creating a new kind of entertainment space on the Mississippi Gulf Coast by blending interactive golf, nightlife, elevated food and drinks, sports viewing, themed events, and private gatherings into one experience driven venue that feels approachable whether you’re a golfer or someone who’s never picked up a club in your life.

And honestly, that is what surprised me most.

When I first walked in, I expected a golf simulator venue. What I found instead was a place where groups were gathered around cocktails and mocktails, couples were laughing in the bays, UFC fights played across screens, and people who clearly had no interest in golf were still having a genuinely good time.

I brought my own kids to MGM Golf and honestly expected them to lose interest after a little while. Instead, they stayed locked in the entire time, laughing, competing, and wanting “just one more round.” Between the golf simulators, arcade style games, T ball challenges, hockey games, hunting games, and interactive competitions built into the bays, it felt more like a full entertainment experience than a traditional golf venue. That family friendly energy feels intentional here, which is something you do not always expect walking into a lounge connected to a casino resort. That accessibility is really what makes the concept stand out.

Lux Lounge and MGM Golf are designed for everyone. Date nights. Girls’ nights. Family outings. Birthday parties. Corporate events. Bachelorette celebrations. Casual walk-ins. Full private buyouts. The space shifts depending on the night and the crowd, which gives it a completely different energy than a traditional lounge or sports bar.

The food and beverage side leans heavily into that experience driven atmosphere.

Alongside cocktails, Luxe Lounge has developed an impressive mocktail menu with drinks like The Tempest, Midsummer Night’s, Henry V, and The Winter Tale. Small plates, wings, sliders, flatbreads, and shareable snacks keep the atmosphere casual and social, while upgraded event packages bring in a much more elevated hospitality experience.

Guests booking private events can customize everything from cocktail receptions and “Eat and Play” packages to dessert enhancements featuring chocolate covered strawberries, truffles, brownies, cookies, and cakes sourced from Beau Rivage’s in house bakery. Coffee and tea service from Roasted Bean, which roasts its coffee in house, can also be added to events.

The venue also incorporates offerings from Beau Rivage’s in house butcher and culinary team with elevated add ons like carved stations, seafood displays, jumbo crab cocktail presentations with remoulade, lobster salad on English cucumber, and cold hors d’oeuvres selections designed for larger hosted gatherings.

And then there’s the weekly programming, which honestly feels like one of the strongest parts of the concept.

Every night has its own identity.

Wednesdays feature “Grip It and Sip It” happy hour from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. with complimentary golf bay access during select hours alongside four dollar well drinks, wines by the glass, and domestic beers.

Thursdays shift into the Barrel Break In series from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., which has quickly become one of Luxe Lounge’s signature experiences. Each week features premium spirit forward tastings built around barrel select pours paired with elevated tapas.

Monthly spirit partners include Old Soul Bourbon, K. Luke Whiskey Company, Jonathan Manisano in June, Código Tequila in July, Woodford Reserve in August, Woodinville in September, and Beau Rivage’s own exclusive Maker’s Mark barrel release planned for October.

At the end of each monthly cycle, Luxe Lounge hosts an expanded Barrel Experience finale with brand ambassadors, giveaways, elevated tastings, and a more energetic social atmosphere.

Fridays are reserved for immersive themed events, and the upcoming “Welcome to Shrek’s Swamp Social” on June 12 from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. might be one of the most creative concepts yet. The activation coincides with Beau Rivage’s upcoming production of Shrek The Musical, running June 11 through July 2, bringing the fairytale-inspired atmosphere beyond the theater and into the lounge experience itself.

MGM Golf’s bays will transform into themed experiences including Shrek’s Swamp featuring the Swamp Glow Margarita and themed photo moments with Shrek ears and Polaroids, Dragon’s Keep with lava lit interiors and specialty mocktails like the Enchanted Ember Kiss and Firebreather Sparkler, and Far Far Away Fairway featuring a Storybook Maple Old Fashioned alongside Shrek themed trivia from June 12 through July 2.

Saturdays turn into UFC nights with fights shown throughout the venue in a lounge style viewing atmosphere, while Sundays slow things back down with “Short Game Sunday,” offering complimentary bay rentals for up to one hour with a forty-dollar food and beverage minimum.

Even if golf isn’t your thing, the bays offer other interactive gaming experiences that make the space feel more like a social entertainment venue than a sports facility. That’s really the bigger story here.

Lux Lounge and MGM Golf reflect a larger shift happening across the Coast. People want experiences now. They want places that feel interactive and social. They want something they can do, not just somewhere they can sit. And Beau Rivage seems to understand that.

Between live entertainment, themed activations, culinary experiences, nightlife programming, and venues like Lux Lounge, the property continues evolving into something much broader than traditional casino entertainment.

For me, Lux Lounge felt less like a place built around golf and more like a place built around gathering. Around conversation. Around shared experiences.
