Burn N Redd: A live duo with a big voice and a hard rock edge

A live duo with a big voice and a hard rock edge, Burn N Redd have cut out a place for themselves among the coast’s music scene over the last year with their dynamic performances and unique sound.

Guitarist Tony Burn is a seasoned player and producer with deep ties in the area’s hard rock and metal scene. Lead vocalist Rhiannon Redd is a classically trained singer who has brought her powerhouse voice to coast stages in recent years with rock acts such as Kronite. While the two knew each other previously, they found themselves working together in the coast’s Breaking Benjamin tribute, Boyz II Ben, and something clicked.

“I really got to know Tony, and he and I have very very similar music tastes,” Redd said. “We love the eighties, we love hard rock, we love Marilyn Manson…” Once they realized their musical compatibility, the idea to do some jamming on the side seemed like an easy call to make. “We just work super well with each other, we’re both very laid back.”

It was apparent that their side project was shaping up into something more when a few open mic jams ended up landing them some solid gigs before they even had a set list worked out. A tongue-in-cheek photoshoot of the duo that had initially just been a fun outtake from another shoot had managed to generate a little buzz as well, and so the band Burn N Redd was officially born.
