Come one, come all to the most thrilling fishing event on the Mississippi Gulf Coast! The Mississippi Gulf Coast Billfish Classic is back, and it’s bigger and better than ever before. From June 3rd to June 9th, anglers from far and wide will gather for a shot at reeling in the biggest marlin of the season. Managed by Tournament Director/ President, Bobby Carter & Marketing Director, Robbie Carter, the Mississippi Gulf Coast Billfish Classic is more than just a fishing tournament – it’s a coast staple. Not only does it showcase the incredible sport of deep-sea fishing, but it also plays a vital role in boosting both the fishing and tourism industries of South Mississippi.
“The Mississippi event is the biggest one that we do, it helps get everything else rolling.” Says Carter. “To kick off the season we did the Louisiana Tuna and Wahoo Classic, and next week we do the Louisiana Gulf Coast Billfish Classic. That’ll be May 1st through the 4th. Then we do the Swordfish Showdown, and that’s May 1st through the 31st.”
With cash prize payouts, the stakes are high and the competition fierce. Every angler dreams of landing that prize-winning catch, and with the prestige and money on the line, the adrenaline is sure to be pumping.
“We’re going to be pushing a hundred teams this year,” Continues Carter. “and with Marlin you could be looking at over two million dollars in payout. They’re very valuable.”
