“Over 95% of the boast are coming from out of state, so tourism loves us.” Says carter with an earnest laugh. “So we want to have everyone come and see what the Gulf Coast has going on with the Casinos, the restaurants, downtown Ocean Springs and everything else.”

“I love bringing everyone together.” Says Carter. “You create not only a competitive atmosphere, but the camaraderie is thick. That’s what makes the event. When you have all your friends and family and everyone comes together in one spot it’s like a reunion, and it’s right here in our back yard.”
Along with the weigh in people are invited to see the Billfish Classic boat parade, which will showcase every boat involved in the Billfish Classic as it leaves to hit the deep fishing waters. This event, on June 6th at 11am, is a must see.
“For the Thursday morning boat parade, I want everyone to go to the beaches.” Says Carter enthusiastically. “From the Golden Nugget, all the way to the Beau Rivage, line the beaches. Get the best view you can to see these beautiful yachts parade by the waters of Casino Row. That’s such a sight to see, it gives you chills. All these people came here from all over the Earth and here they are in one big single file line showing out for the cities of Biloxi and Ocean Springs.”
