One of my favorite parts about exploring the Mississippi Gulf Coast isn’t just finding great places to eat, it’s discovering the people who make each place special. Sometimes I walk into a business expecting a good meal and a cup of coffee, and I leave with a story, a new connection, and a reminder of why I love calling the Coast home.
That was exactly my experience at The Greenhouse Biloxi.
Located in downtown Biloxi, The Greenhouse is much more than a neighborhood café. It’s a welcoming gathering place where handcrafted food, locally roasted coffee, original artwork, and community all flourish under one roof. From the moment you step inside, you’re surrounded by creativity. The walls showcase artwork created by talented Gulf Coast artists, many of which are available for purchase, giving local creatives a space to share their work with visitors and fellow locals alike.
During my visit, I was lucky enough to meet one of those artists while they were actually working on a new piece inside the café. Watching someone create art in real time while people enjoyed breakfast and coffee around them made the entire space feel alive. Before long, conversations started flowing, and I found myself meeting several local artists who shared their stories, passions, and creative journeys. By the time I left, I had even made a new friend.
Moments like that are exactly why I love exploring our Coast. Every small business has its own personality, and sometimes the best part of visiting isn’t just what’s on the menu it’s the people you meet along the way.

I couldn’t leave without trying one of their most talked-about breakfast sandwiches the Candied Bacon Biscuit Sammie.
Served on a fluffy homemade buttermilk biscuit, it’s layered with crispy candied bacon, a farm-fresh fried egg, homemade strawberry jam, and spiced pecan goat cheese. I know it sounds like an unexpected combination, but trust me it works beautifully. The sweetness of the fresh strawberry jam balances the smoky bacon perfectly, while the creamy goat cheese adds a rich, slightly tangy finish that ties everything together. Learning they make the strawberry jam in-house made me appreciate every bite even more. It’s those homemade touches that truly set The Greenhouse apart.
To pair with breakfast, I ordered their monthly zodiac-inspired specialty drink the Cookie Butter Latte. One thing I absolutely love about The Greenhouse is that every month brings something new. Their rotating zodiac coffee specials feature creative flavor combinations crafted with house-made syrups, giving regular customers something fun to look forward to with each visit. The Cookie Butter Latte was smooth, comforting, and full of warm cookie butter flavor without being overly sweet perfect alongside breakfast.
As I looked through the menu, it became obvious that homemade cooking is part of The Greenhouse’s identity. Fresh biscuits are baked from scratch, with varieties including classic buttermilk, bacon cheddar, and sweet potato. Weekly rotating sweet and savory biscuit specials keep the menu fresh, while breakfast plates, quiche, parfaits with homemade granola, sandwiches, wraps, salads, cookies, gluten-free desserts, and handcrafted espresso drinks offer something for everyone.
Whether you’re looking for a quick breakfast before work, a cozy lunch with friends, or an afternoon coffee break, there’s a menu full of thoughtfully prepared options waiting for you.
The Greenhouse’s commitment to supporting local doesn’t stop in the kitchen.
Whenever possible, they source produce, coffee, supplies, and ingredients from nearby growers, makers, and small businesses. Even members of their own team contribute to that mission. One employee grows gourmet mushrooms and offers them for sale, giving customers another opportunity to support local agriculture while discovering something new.
The café also hosts monthly art markets in Bacon Alley, where Gulf Coast artists and makers gather to showcase their work and connect with the community. Events like the annual Bacon Alley Mug Show celebrate local ceramic artists and continue The Greenhouse’s mission of giving creatives a place to shine.
Looking toward the future, the owners hope to expand with a covered outdoor patio once city approval is finalized. The addition would create even more space for people to gather, enjoy breakfast outdoors, sip coffee with friends, and continue building the sense of community that has become the heart of The Greenhouse.
