Cranking out high powered rock with a southern flair, Black Stone Cherry are on the road for the summer with a fresh album release in tow. The Kentucky based group have been turning up for over twenty years and will be making their return to the coast for a headlining date in the Beau Rivage Theatre, along with supporting act Tim Montana.

Black Stone Cherry formed in 2001 and broke out with the 2006 release of their self-titled debut album. Early singles such as the chuggy, hard driving “Lonely Train” and the vocally explosive, riff-centric opener “Rain Wizard” caught the attention of listeners and set the tone of what would follow from Black Stone Cherry for years to come: big, loud, soulful rock and roll. It’s a sound that rolls the time tested, organic warmth of classic rock together with a modern edge, experimental nature and some tasty heaviness. The band kept steady, releasing studio albums, live and special edition recordings that kept them among the big names of active rock with further hits like “Blame it on the Boom Boom,” “White Trash Millionaire,” “Me and Mary Jane,” and the especially meaningful “Things My Father Said.”
