Are you ready to strut your stuff and show off your pride? Then get ready for a day of love, unity, and acceptance at the Gulf Coast Equality Fest, celebrating the LGBT community at Harrah’s Gulf Coast.
Started in 2017 by the Gulf Coast Equality Council, The Gulf Coast Equality Fest offers a fun time for the whole community with over one hundred vendors including music, activities, and more. Queer and allied communities from all over the coast are welcome to attend. There’s never been a better time to celebrate yourself, and never a better chance than at Harrah’s Gulf Coast.
“It’ll be an event to celebrate the community,” says John Perkins, Board Security and Chair of the Gulf Coast Equality Fest. “With all the anti-LGBT legislation going on across the country it’s important to have events like this to bring the community together so they know they’re not the only ones out there. We made our theme this year “True Colors” so everybody knows they’re free to come be themselves.”
This year’s event features music from Chicken on the Bone and the Kelsey Moran band, as well as notable guest speakers such as TikTok icon Matthew Bounds and LL Pearson, HRC Mississippi Steering Committee Co-Chair. Catastrophe Nicole Knight will serve as M/C, and the event will feature two drag shows. There will be a bookmobile from Harrison County to help people sign up for the library, pet adoptions with the Humane Society of South Mississippi, and HIV testing provided by Coastal Family Health Center Biloxi.
