Mississippi based Soul Pop artist Cuffing Season is breaking out in early 2025.
Chandler Monroe grew up in the Delta. In his early days music served as an escape from the hardships that come with life. Gospel came first, and he picked up some singing chops in the church choir. His acquisition of an old record player as a teen started him on the path to developing his own unique musical tastes as he began the classic hobby of collecting records. He found himself drawn to hip hop, soul, old school R&B and Motown right from the start.
“I just kind of fell in love with that kind of music,” he said.
Through high school he jammed and made music for fun with friends and eventually started a band. Something clicked, and Chandler decided that playing music was exactly what he wanted to do in life. From there he went to Atlanta, taking things a bit further and playing in different bands of different genres of alternative and rock for some time. By 2020 though, his band days had ended. Without instrumentalists to collaborate with, his future as a singer was in question. With some encouragement from his fiancee, Chandler set out to get the equipment and skills he needed to produce music for himself. He sourced some gear, watched some video tutorials, learned the craft and began creating beats and melodies at home for the songs he was writing. A new solo career was born.

Chandler spent some time experimenting with different styles, looking for his sweet spot. That search ended when he came back to Mississippi and rediscovered his beloved old record collection.
