Elle King: Live @ Beau Rivage Theatre – August 30th

“It’s crazy because I wrote “Drunk” over 10 years ago. I started writing it when I was 24 –  much, much younger and drunker, LOL!” she said, explaining that the hit is a big highlight of the live show.  “I wrote it with Martin Johnson and we wrote it the same day as ‘America’s Sweetheart.’ I always knew that the chorus of ‘Drunk’ was a banger. It took 6 years for me to come back around to the song.  I was on tour with Miranda and we were becoming good friends, and I thought it would be fun if Miranda sang on it.  I asked, she agreed  and the rest is history. We literally made history with the song.”

“Baby Daddy’s Weekend” looks to follow up on King’s recent momentum with a fun summertime jam. With lyrics about turnin’ up and raisin’ a cup and a video featuring the singer catching some quality downtime on a pool float, it’s an upbeat and hooky leading tune that people can let loose to.

.               “I wrote ‘Baby Daddy’s Weekend’ with my friend Pillbox Patti. We wanted to write a song to celebrate moms, especially single moms. We love our kids more than anything in this world but sometimes we just need a break and this song is a tip of the hat to those times,” King said. “I got to debut this song at Stagecoach, which was really exciting.  It hit immediately with the fans and I love how they sing every word back louder than me sometimes, and I’m pretty damn loud!”

While King says heavy touring can be grueling for her and her crew, there’s nothing like sharing the live experience with her fans.

“Our audience is a bunch of hardworking people. They want to have fun at the show and they want to see me having fun, because we’re all in this together.”

You can enjoy Elle King live with the quality sound, comfort and refined atmosphere of the Beau Rivage Theatre. Tickets are available through Beau Rivage and Elle King’s official websites.
