The EP is joined by six full length albums as well as some single releases, presenting dozens of tunes from the full length of Green Mantles’ career that many listeners may not have encountered before, including fan favorites such as “Swamp Thing” and “Cheerless Witch.” If you’ve ever heard the band live before and wanted to get them on your playlist, now’s your time to shine!
Unfortunately, one thing that couldn’t be fully captured in the wealth of recordings is the band’s on-stage energy that fans have come to look forward to. Singer guitarist Brian, bassist Chip and drummer Terry aren’t known to stand still and coast through their performances, instead opting to pack in as much dancing, jumping and rock and roll acrobatics as their performance and stage space can handle. Even the duo version of the band comes with a tasteful dose of chaos.

Green Mantles will be making just a few more regional appearances in 2023 before jetting off to Scotland for a bit in January. The band have long been fond of touring into Europe when the opportunity comes, and Edinburgh Scotland specifically has become a place the band always returns to to enjoy its beauty and rich music culture. More upcoming show dates will be announced on the band’s socials.
“We’re thankful that we’ve been able to survive, somehow, 21 years and that so many beautiful people still enjoy the music and come out,” Brian chuckled. Several talented band members, regional collaborators and guests have been a part of the Green Mantles tribe through these years (including Coast Observer’s own contributors Canonblue Lalley and Mark Simmons), and no matter who is on stage, the ethic has been the same: “I think that every time we play out we’re going to try to give you the best time. You’re going to walk away in a good mood, happier, maybe forgetting about what your problems would be outside of the venue.”
