“Dark Heart” is in fact the planned title for the next Love Story’s End album, which like its predecessor is being independently produced by Hagler and collaborators through War Tribe Studios. An early mix of the track “Absolution” aired on a recent episode of 97.9 CPR Rocks’ Homegrown Show, offering listeners a surprise teaser of something to come from the album. Straight forward and punchy with bright melodies and a punk rock energy, “Absolution” carries a unique sort of vibe among much of LSE’s other existing and upcoming material. Much still remains to be seen for the rest of the album and its sound as it is forged in the studio, but you can keep an eye on Love Story’s End online for more music reveals over the coming months.
“People ask about… making it. Everybody’s trying to make it, you know, and that means different things to different people,” Hagler said about the band’s ongoing longevity.
“For me, I want to make the music. To make the music, to me, is making it. Just making original music, having that artistic self expression through music… sharing that with people and making those connections with people if there are any fans out there of it… to me, that’s making it. That’s where my mind is and that’s what I’m focused on.”
Love Story’s End has an upcoming acoustic set at the SilasPalooza benefit concert at Tripletails in Bay St. Louis on May 27th, and will be putting on a full show at The Government Street Grocery in Ocean Springs on August 12th.
