With rolling metal tables and chairs, RC Cola signs and a mural as well as a mural of Burt Reynolds and Sally Fields from the movie Smokey and the Bandit, you are ready for that black Trans Am to pull on in. An arcade touts games from the 80’s and sweet treats and heart- warming foods await you. Flat screens are placed around the tables and the long bar for anyone indulging in sports. Monday – Friday drink specials include $5 Screwdrivers with fresh squeeze, Whiskey Sours, Pickleback shots and beer buckets. Sunday offers $2 or $3 beers from 4 pm til. Jordin was our bartender and served a nice whiskey sour and a specialty drink of Pickle Dr. Pepper – Dr. Pepper, pickle juice, dill pickle, hot honey and a Tajin rim with a shot of Jim Beam. Very interesting, I truly enjoyed the flavors mixed together! DJ Branning was Managing on this day and was very proud of the unique flair and innovations brought to the bar fare served with some gumption! Anything with honey is made in house from their own beehive, the sauces are creative and also made in house, and the selections may be reminiscent of your childhood, I’m here to assure you they have been kicked-up a notch!
You may have seen Cheli’s post while we there that they serve fried Spam and fried bologna sandwiches! Yes indeed! The Spam is sliced thin and fried, stacked back in the Spam can and served with hot honey mustard. Brooke Lewis told me on the way in that we had to try it and I was skeptical. Well, thank you ma’am, that was some good thin and crispy fried spam with the hot honey mustard setting it off! The Fried Bogna Sandwich is served on Texas Toast with fries, slaw or chips – a thick slab of smoked bologna, fried with Bacon Jam and Cheddar Cheese. The fries and chips are house cut from soft butter spuds, fried in 100% grass-fed beef tallow then seasoned with rosemary salt, yum! We had the chips with house made pepperjack queso, also amazing! Everything served fried is prepared in the beef tallow and it comes out flavorful and not greasy! The Garage Wings – marinated and baked, then fried for the perfectly juicy jumbo wings that are extra crispy, perfect naked, or tossed in Pappy’s Buffalo, RC Cola BBQ, Garlic Aioli sauces, served with Ranch and dill pickles. My very favorite fried wings so far! They also offer Chicken on a Stick with fried dill pickle, onion and potato with hot honey mustard, and Boiled Peanuts – DJ Branning style! Loaded Nachos over rosemary tallow chips topped with pulled pork, queso, RC Cola BBQ, onions, peppers, candied jalapenos and green onions are tempting as well.
