Well, here we are in downtown Ocean Springs, ready to give you the juicy details on Tom’s Extreme Pizzeria. Located directly across the street from the Depot, you can’t miss the cute little patio displaying the Bonsai and succulent garden that Tom himself personally grooms and lovingly tends to. Upon arriving at Tom’s, I saw a man trimming the Bonsai and asked him if he was the keeper of the garden. Proudly he responded that he was indeed, and when Cheli got there, I met him at the table. We shared a little laugh and then Tom Bennet shared his story. Originally from Ohio, he moved around a little bit, first Texas, then Las Vegas, and to our delight the casinos brought him to work at the Isle of Capri. He opened his first venue in Gautier seventeen years ago, which I used to frequent in my travels from Pascagoula to Ocean Springs. Two years later he moved to downtown Ocean Springs, where he has had a successful run for fifteen years and counting. Winner of the Covey for Best Pizza, Tom’s has been nominated (top three) for many years now. And, the way we feel about that is that you are already a winner if you’ve made the top three!
