This little pizza joint with a full bar, and plenty of seating touts a little American heritage with a display of arrow heads, all the way to a coastal mural on the back wall. It definitely sparks up memories of regular visits to Tony’s Pizza in Pascagoula after a home football game, and if we were playing Biloxi or Gulfport we had to go to Hugo’s. Hugo’s holds many precious memories from my dad always getting off work for the away games so that we could go there after, and, it was the only place I ever saw him drink a beer! Then, by the time Cheli moved here, it was our 24 drinking, dancing, and dining spot. Tom pays tribute to them with the Hugo sauce being offered as a choice for your pizza base. A blend of Catalina and French is too good, and should be tried. Tom makes his dough fresh daily and the traditional is super thin and crispy while they also offer thick, cauliflower or gluten free crusts. There are thirteen sauce bases to choose from and an insane list of toppings. The extreme American pizzas or specialty pizzas are named for different landmarks with a map of the U.S. pinpointing the region. “Our goal is to help you create memories. We work hard to make food you’re proud to share with your family and friends! We use the best and freshest ingredients we can find to create gourmet pizza, burgers, salads, hoagies, and more. We avoid additives & chemicals. Our food is REAL food cooked to order for cool people like you. Thanks for coming in!” This mission statement says it all! He did tell me that his pizza sauce is made from fresh California tomatoes, delivered frequently because it’s additive- free. I’m certainly hoping the youth and their parents are making memories to be treasured!
