Hang Loose at Hangout

With this being an election year, HEADCOUNT was out in full force, registering voters and
providing critical information to a criminally underrepresented voting demographic. This booth is perhaps one of the most important shows of activism, because it promotes the usage of our voices, and the power in them rising up. Another incredibly powerful and important booths is TWLOHA (To Write Love On Her Arms), a non-profit that centers heavily around the power of mental health advocacy for those struggling with depression, self harm, addiction and suicide.
I’ve been seeing this NFP at festivals for so many years, and it always brings a smile to my face.
Music saves lives, it’s a way of expression and reclaiming autonomy and I can’t think of a better pairing to see represented.

Moving back over to the experiences, there was a change this year that really broke my heart and that was the swap out of the retro roller rink. I’ve taken some of the funnest, raddest photos of people dressed up as wrestlers, or dinosaurs, (and one year the golden girls), but I loved that it was replaced with a shady dining pavilion, accessible and with the concert goers front and center in intention.

I was so happy to see the ICONIC Disco Bus made the cut this year! Doubling as a DJ Set and an art installation, the photos from this thing are insane. It’s blingy and whimsical and with an array of disco refraction, any outfit looks amazing against it.
